I am determined to spend the time to understand each of my patient's beliefs, environments, goals and concerns. Dr. Ramana graduated from the University of Michigan with Class Honors in 1998. He received his medical degree from Midwestern University in 2002 when he was also named Internal Medicine Student of the Year. Subsequently, he completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular medicine fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center where he served as Associate Chief Resident and Chief Fellow.
Dr. Ramana specializes in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures using both standard and newer adjunctive techniques and technology. He is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, and nuclear cardiology, and certified in the interpretation of cardiac CT Angiography,
He has been extremely active in clinical cardiovascular research while publishing 12 peer-reviewed original manuscripts and two comprehensive book chapters in cardiovascular medicine textbooks. Dr. Ramana has presented at national cardiovascular meetings including TCT, AHA, and SCAI. Furthermore, he is currently an invited staff reviewer of six cardiovascular medicine journals.
Dr. Ramana joined Heart Care Centers of Illinois in 2009.
