Jaafer Golzar, M.D.

Dr. Jaafer Golzar graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock cum laude. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas and received his MD in 1999. Dr. Golzar completed his internship and residency at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He was named outstanding cardiology resident two consecutive years during his residency. He continued at East Carolina University for his Cardiology fellowship.

Dr. Golzar completed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Beaumont is recognized as one of the nation’s top centers for coronary and peripheral vascular interventional procedures.

There, he received extensive training in all aspects of interventional cardiology including high-risk balloon angioplasty and stenting, rotational atherectomy and closure of patent foramen ovale. He also specializes in the treatment of blockages of the peripheral arteries including carotid, subclavian, renal, and iliac arteries. Dr. Golzar has a particular interest and research in treating blockages of the lower extremities using mechanical atherectomy.

During his training at Beaumont, Dr. Golzar also received specialized training in coronary CT imaging, a new, non-invasive method of visualizing blockages of the heart.

Dr. Golzar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease.
